The Life section is proud to introduce the Best Buddies Column. The purpose of this column is to shine a light on Eastern Michigan University Best Buddies’ purpose to further promote inclusion and understanding for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This platform will allow them to express themselves freely, creatively and most importantly, show EMU students their perspective of the world around them.
For more information about the organization, go to emich.edu/vision/programs/bestbuddies.php or visit the VISION office in room 346 of the Student Center.
My name is Brandon Davis. I am 21 years old and I like music, playing video games and I push myself to the limit.
This song will be on my mixtape. I told my uncle about this song and he said “Brandon, you wanna do this, you have to be serious about it.”
As I got older I don’t know who’s real for me and who’s fake. This song is for people that don’t really know if the people you hang out with is really there for you or not. This song is called “I Don’t Know.”
I want people to read the words and try to picture what I been going through.
I Don’t Know
I don’t know if I’m going to make it
But dog I’m tryin to go
Trying to get this money
Man I need this money
Please believe in me
But dog I don’t know
I don’t know if these people are real or fake
God I don’t know
People hatin’ on me, I don’t know who to trust
I know I got some people I can trust
Pat, Pat, Tee Brooks, and my other cool peoples
Them the people I can trust
They know that I’m different but they still love me
When I got hit by the car some people were down for me
Now that I won, people ask me for money
Like Brandon come kick it
Come break bread with the people.
