Thunder Over Michigan air show returns to Willow Run Airport

The air show will feature performances by the USN Blue Angels and a Special Warbird Salute.

Thunder Over Michigan is being held this year July 16-17, with two shows each day at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Scott Buie the president of Street Marketing is one of the sponsors of the event.

“Thunder Over Michigan is a fundraising event for the Yankee Air Museum, a 501c3. We feature both modern and vintage Military aircraft on the grounds and in the air,“ said Buie. This year's performers include Michal Goulian, The US Airforce F-16 Demo Team, and the US Navy Blue Angels.”

The organization’s first show was held in 1999, and has always taken place at Willow Run Airport, said Buie.

“In addition to the air show we have a variety of activities including food concessions, helicopter rides, aircraft rides, kids zone, vendors, souvenirs, meet and greet with pilots, hospitality tents, and aircraft,” said Buie.

Tickets are sold per car and packages range from $115 to $395. Each show is limited to a total of 1,600 tickets purchased.
