As the semester kicks off there is one thing we can all relate to: the stress that comes from paying for the classes we just started taking. I know when my tuition bill was e-mailed to me this summer, my heart skipped a beat, and not in a good way.

I am a parent of a son in college and one that will attend next year. My son is going to school on scholarships/grants/loans because, as a single parent, I am working as hard as I can to keep a roof over our heads.

In the last two months, his Michigan Competitive Scholarship and Promise Scholarship are up-in-the-air (probably GONE!) and my salary was reduced by 20%!

What now, Michigan? What do we do now?
