The Eastern Echo

News and nonsense spiced with nerve

Summer's finished

Welcome back Eastern Michigan students and faculty.

It’s that time again. Time to put away the shorts and sunglasses – if you were ever able to get them out – and pull on a sweater. The air has begun to chill, and here in Michigan, that can only mean it’s September and time to go back to school.

While many of you were out enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of summer, many of us at The Eastern Echo were preparing for another year of groundbreaking improvements in the way we bring you up-to-date news, sports, entertainment and opinions.

But in order to continue the high level of standards you’ve grown accustomed to, we’ve had to make a few changes.

Starting next week, The Echo will be available in print Monday and Thursday, with a 25 percent increase in distribution. You’ll also see The Echo at more businesses and locations, as we begin a larger circulation within the community.

In order to provide more local news and community events, we have teamed up with the Ypsilanti Citizen, a local online newspaper.

EasternEcho.com has also been redesigned, with an easier to use interface and features that will be updated daily. Check out the new site for polls, events and, of course, up-to- date news, sports and campus happenings.

We encourage participation and welcome any feedback, and hope to serve you better over the coming year both online and in print.
