Eagles rout Marygrove for 2nd win

Cassie Schrock had a triple-double Tuesday in Eastern Michigan University’s 87-45 win over Marygrove (Detroit) College at the Convocation Center.

Schrock had 11 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists, for the third triple-double in school history. It was the first since Ryan Coleman’s in 2005.

Tavelyn James and Sydney Huntley-Rodgers led all scorers with 15, while Paige Redditt added 13 and tied a career best with four blocks for EMU (2-0). All but one of its players scored.

Marygrove (3-2) hung around in the first half. Ebony Jackson, who led the team with 14 points, made three 3-pointers early make the score 16-16. However, the Eagles went on a 30-6 run to end the half.

EMU will next go on a three-game road trip, starting against Sienna on Friday, then Niagara on Sunday and finishing with Temple on Nov. 24.
