News and nonsense spiced with nerve

Suspects sought in robberies

Two armed robberies occurred Sunday morning on the 1200 block of LeForge Road and the 1400 block of Gregory Street.

It is unclear at this time if the victims of the incidents were Eastern Michigan University students, although police did say they believe the crimes are connected.

Police said the first incident occurred at 5:55 a.m. in which the victim was approached by two men who demanded money at gunpoint. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and fled.

The second robbery occurred at 6:04 a.m. on Gregory Street. Two males who demanded money at gunpoint approached two victims. Again, the victims’ cell phones were taken and the suspects fled.

It is believed the same suspects were involved in both crimes.

All three victims described the suspects as African-American males, roughly 5’9” in height, wearing red or grey bandannas over the lower parts of their faces and dark Carhartt jackets.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ypsilanti Police Department at
734-483-9510.
