Police chief search narrows

The next chief of the Ypsilanti Police Department will likely be one of two YPD lieutenants.

City Manager Ed Koryzno, charged with hiring the new chief, announced the list of six candidates for the position had been narrowed to two after interviews were held Dec. 4.

The two YPD lieutenants now being considered for the position are Craig Annas and Amy Walker. The four who did not make it to a second interview were from Detroit, Port Huron, Westland and Flat Rock.
