Washtenaw deputies look for suspect

The search is still on for a man who Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies said might be responsible for a shooting that occurred last Friday in Ypsilanti Township, injuring two people near a store.

Deputies have released a surveillance image of the man after it was captured on the Dairy Mart’s security camera.

Two men were walking in the area near the store on Grove Road, according to deputies, when a fight broke out and they were shot around 7:19 p.m.

The suspect fled the scene.

The men suffered non life-threatening injuries. One man suffered a graze-wound to the head and information is still not available regarding the injuries the other man sustained.

Deputies said they still are unaware of the motives behind the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 734-973-7711.
