Eagles go 2-0 this weekend, beat Bowling Green
The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team continued its four-game win streak as it defeated the Bowling Green Falcons 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-16) Saturday, Oct. 15.
The Eagles now improve to 17-6 (5-3 in MAC) with the victory over Bowling Green. The Eagles had many key players to help earn the victory. Rachel Iaquaniello contributed 14 kills and 8 digs, Kristen Baker chipped in 11 kills and Megan Crawshaw and Paige Roback had 6 kills respectively on the night; Haley Stein led EMU with 14 digs. The Eagles out played the Falcons offensively with 41 kills to Bowling Green’s 37. EMU also had a greater hitting percentage .318 percent and allowing the Falcons to just .170 percent.

The Falcons were led by Danielle Tonyan who contributed 12 kills, 1 assist and 1 dig, and Laura Avila who chipped in 11 digs and 23 assists for Bowling Green. The Falcons couldn’t get it together and fell to 16-5 on the season and 3-5 in MAC.
The Eagles have a stretch of home games with 5 in a row; the next match is Oct. 21 at the Convocation Center at 7 p.m. when they take on the Bulls of Buffalo.
