The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team traveled to Muncie, Ind. Oct. 6 to take on the Ball State University Cardinals to end a four game road trip. The match was close, but the team was able to pull off their second straight conference win, 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 26-24).

Spencer Slade has returned home to Michigan to play his senior year of the men’s golf season for Eastern Michigan University. This will be his first year playing for EMU after transferring during his sophomore year from Savannah State University, a small school in Georgia with less than 5,000 students, where he played his freshman year.

Ann Arbor band The White Ravens have developed a decent following over the years, with two self-released albums and a third set to be released soon. They are very dedicated to water conservation, which inspired much of their upcoming album, “Saddle Up the Whales.” The band will be appearing at Woodruff’s in Ypsilanti Saturday, Sept. 29 for a CD release party, along with three other artists.

Eastern Michigan University senior Terefe Ejigu definitely made his mark Friday at the University of Toledo’s Bubble Buster Invitational as he earned his second consecutive first-place finish for the Eagle’s cross country team. He took first last week at the Spartan Invitational with a time of 24:28.
