The racist acts, hate speech, apologetic emails: it’s nothing the community of EMU hasn’t seen before. The outrage, rallying, and protesting all seems to fade within a week until the next incident happens. The amount of hate speech and blatant racism that occurs on campus is something that is becoming normalized. This is something that minority groups on campus have been battling for years and still continue to do so.

While these were provided, my exposure to Greek Life over a single semester has given me some additional food for thought. Greek Life has been a largely positive experience but also an enlightening one.

A recent opinion piece by Reid Scott described the Green New Deal as something that has “really ambitious and, in reality, impossible goals for the country.” This argument is flawed and poorly researched. If anything, the Green New Deal is not ambitious enough and proposes entirely possible goals for the United States.

Last Monday, a Black doll was found hanging in a shared shower of a dorm room in Best Hall. After this incident, Black students, including myself, are unsure whether Eastern Michigan University cares about students of color or are just using them as a token to show that they are diverse.

Cloud has undergone some changes for better and for worse. Mostly for worse. In “Smash 4,” Cloud was one of the top two characters due to his lingering ariels, such as his up-air and down-air. His neutral-air was especially powerful due to the wide range it had around his body. However, Cloud’s most powerful weapon was his limit break. This gave him a buff on jump height, fall speed and all of his special moves. This gave Cloud a killing toolbox, allowing him to dispatch opponents at roughly 65 percent and higher depending on situation and character. This killing ability combined with his high damage and superb juggling ability made Cloud into one of the best characters in the game, arguably second only to Bayonetta.

On Jan. 22, I woke up at 8 a.m. I’m not a morning person; I would never intentionally wake up before 9 a.m., but this day was different–the 91st Academy Awards nominations were about to be announced. This year I will try to watch the 52 nominees before the ceremony.
