The baseball team got the week started for Eastern Michigan athletics as they hosted Northwestern Ohio on Tuesday, March 26. They faced Concordia the following day while the track and field teams participated in four separate events which began on March 28 and ended two days later.
Eastern Michigan Baseball opened Mid-American Conference play with a three-game series sweep versus rival Northern Illinois on March 22-24 at Ralph McKinzie Stadium in Dekalb, Ill. Senior pitcher Sam Delaplane has been named MAC West division pitcher of the week for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The senior right-hander threw his first complete game of his career in a 8-2 win over the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday, April 15. He struck out a career high 12 batters on his way to the win while also not giving a walk.
