The weather outside might be a little cold and dreary, but your nails don’t have to be. Here are some of my favorite winter nail polish trends. Who says you can’t be trendy and stylish this winter season?
“Bogota Blackberry”-OPI
If you’re a fan of classic shades, then you’re going to love this color. “Bogota Blackberry” is a perfect combination of red, berry and burgundy with a hint of shimmer, making it very festive. Don’t be afraid of the shimmer. It’s not overwhelming or gaudy by any means. This beautiful, classic shade of red never will go out of style.
“Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window”-OPI
I have to wonder sometimes, “Where do they come up with the names for these colors?”
Nevertheless, don’t let the name fool you. “Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window” is a beautiful olive green. At first, I was a little hesitant about wearing this color, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I fell in love with it. It’s definitely a must-have in my nail polish collection.
“Dulce de Leche”-OPI
I like to think of “Dulce de Leche” as the lifesaver of all nail polish colors because it looks great with pretty much anything in your wardrobe. You’ll never say to yourself, “OMG! My nails don’t match my outfit today!” It’s one of those essential colors every girl should have. It’s also perfect for the workplace. Your nails will look beautiful and appropriate at the same time. I would describe “Dulce de Leche” as a beautiful caramel color with a peach undertone.
“Brunette on the Internet”-Sephora by OPI
First off, I just love the name of this color. It’s very clever, don’t you think? Maybe I’m just saying that because I’m a brunette. More importantly, however, “Brunette on the Internet” is a beautiful shade of red, but not the typical bright candy apple red many people expect to see. “Brunette on the Internet” best resembles a deep maroon color.
“In the Shadows”-Sephora by OPI
OK, I’ll admit I adore brown nail polish. I don’t understand why some people shy away from it. Brown is perfect for anyone who loves the look of dark nail polish but isn’t necessarily a fan of black. Not to mention, dark nails are a big trend in fashion at the moment. “In the Shadows” is a beautiful rich, dark chocolate.
“Break a Leg-Warmer!”-Sephora by OPI
Don’t judge. Grey isn’t as bleak or boring as you may think. It’s actually very chic, trendy and another great alternative for black nail polish. You don’t have to be particularly brave or bold to wear this color. If you have a little creativity and confidence, grey nail polish can do wonders. Don’t let this beautiful charcoal grey pass you by.
Note: All colors mentioned work great as a neutral and look beautiful on all skin tones.
Tip: Always apply OPI’s natural nail base coat before painting your nails. This step is highly recommended because it really does prevent yellowing of the nails.
