Gators and Spartans highlight EMU 2014 football schedule

Eastern Michigan University announced on Feb. 28 its 2014 football schedule, which features non-conference road meetings against the University of Florida and Michigan State University.

Eastern opens the season at home against Morgan State University, Aug. 30.

EMU travels to the University of Florida, Sept. 6 and Old Dominion University, Sept. 13.

The Eagles close the non-conference portion of their schedule at Michigan State University, Sept. 20.

EMU opens its home Mid-American Conference slate on Oct. 11, when it will host the University at Buffalo.

The Eagles also host Northern Illinois University, Oct. 25, Central Michigan University, Nov. 1 and the University of Toledo, Nov. 28.

League road games will see the Eagles travel to the University of Akron, Oct. 4, the University of Massachusetts, Oct. 18, Western Michigan University, Nov. 15 and Ball State University, Nov. 22.
EMU will have a pair of open dates on Sept. 27 and Nov. 8.

Before opening day, the 2014 Spring Game will be held on Saturday, April 12 at Rynearson Stadium with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.

If fans make a $50 deposit on season tickets before Monday, March 25, they will receive an invitation to the Era of Excellence event which will follow the spring game. The event will be a picnic where fans will be able to meet with Coach Creighton, the rest of the EMU staff, as well as members of the team. Food and beverages will be provided.

The time and location is to be determined.

All regular season times will be announced at a later date.
