If you grew up in the 90s, chances are you probably watched the anime series known as Sailor Moon. Recently, the familiar girl in the sailor suit uniform was revived in an anime adaptation that is far more faithful to the plot and art style of the manga the original was based on.
Sailor Moon Crystal was also released just in time for the 20th anniversary of the Sailor Moon franchise. It is a breath of fresh air among the magical girl genre of anime that has been released lately.
The remake also features brighter colors and crisper details, as well as all new CGI-created transformation sequences for each of the Sailor Scouts. In essence, this series reboots Sailor Moon and gives her new life, while keeping the beloved characters from our childhoods intact.
This is definitely a must-watch for those who want to relive popular anime from their childhoods, or those who are feeling nostalgic for Sailor Moon and want to come back to her. It is also a great gateway anime for those just getting into the genre.
