MAC Honors Raven Lee and Karrington Ward

The league office of the Mid-American Conference honored EMU’s student-athletes Raven Lee (G) and Karrington Ward (F) with All-MAC Accolades March 9. Lee was named to the All-MAC Third Team, along with Ward earning honorable mention honors.

Lee earned his first MAC postseason award after averaging the third-most points in the conference while Ward earned his postseason award list for the second-straight time this year.

Lee has averaged a scoring record of 545 points this season, shooting 16.5 percent from the field, along with 78.1 percent from behind the free throw, putting him as the eighth-best free throw shooting in the conference.

The redshirt-sophomore picked up nine games in which he scored 20-or-more points, along with two 30-plus point game performances.

As for Ward, he has averaged a scoring record of 410 points, averaging 12.7 ppg and grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game, earning him the eighth spot in rebounding for the conference. Ward has also recorded seven double-doubles during the season, while scoring 20-or-more points in five games this year.

The Eagles leading scorers have done pretty well this season, as both players earned the titles of MAC-West Player of the Week this 2014-15 season (Lee-Nov.23; Ward-Feb. 16), carrying the team to an overall eighth seed in the conference.

As their MAC journey continues, the Eagles will now advance on to the second round of the tournament, facing the Bowling Green Falcons Wednesday, March 11. Tipoff starts at 6:30 p.m.
