Ward gets workout with Detroit Pistons

Former Eastern Michigan men's basketball forward Karrington Ward started his journey toward the NBA draft as he worked out for the Detroit Pistons on Friday, June 19.

“The workout was great, shot the ball great, showed off my athletic ability and defended well so overall it was a great workout,” Ward said.

The 6'7" Ward played in all 35 games this past season despite dealing with an ankle injury in the middle of the season. Ward averaged 12.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and started 34 of the 35 games in his senior season.

It is unlikely for Ward to be drafted at the 2015 NBA Draft on June 25 but could be signed after the draft to try out during the summer league.

“Hopefully I can land on an NBA summer league [team] and prove that I can play in the NBA,” Ward said.
