Fall fashion swoops over campus

Whether you’re getting ready to break out your cozy fleece jacket or your favorite knit top, there is no doubt that fall is here. During this chilling shift in the seasons, it’s important to stay cute and comfortable, all while remaining warm and toasty.

According to Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for the upcoming 2015 fall, “this season displays an umbrella of accord that weaves earthy neutrals with a range of bold color statements and patterns to reflect a landscape of hope, fun, fantasy and all things natural.”

Eastern Michigan University sophomore, Kelsey Hawkins-Johnson, says that black is always her go-to wardrobe essential. “That’s all the time,” she said.

What are some must-have items you absolutely cannot go without this fall? Elle magazine advises readers that fur boots and lady-loafers will be a total comeback this year. Bling and plaid are also making an encore, so be sure to stock up on some sparkly accents and patterned pieces.

“Bling can be in all it wants, but my seasonal necessity has always been a full beard paired with a knit hat that my grandma made me,” EMU student Michael Eiswerth said. “There’s love in every stitch.”

If you’re not exactly looking into growing a full beard or bribing your grandma into making you a statement headpiece in the upcoming months, follow theatre major Havah Roussel’s advice: “I like huge scarves, like the size of a blanket because then you can snuggle up all day long.”
