Police Blotter: March 18-24

Monday, March 18

Sound equipment was reported stolen from the Varsity Softball Field’s sound booth on March 18 at 2:45 p.m. The crime is believed to have happened between February 3 at noon and February 4 at noon. The case remains open.

An individual was cited for disorderly conduct, obstructing police by providing a false ID and having drug paraphernalia at 611 West Cross Street at 9:39 p.m. The case closed the next day.

Tuesday, March 19

An individual was seen stealing from a store within the College of Business after hours via video surveillance. The crime happened on March 8 at 3:46 p.m. and was reported March 19 at 2:32. The case remains open.

A professor reported unwanted and harassing communication from a former student at 3:06 p.m. on March 19. The harassment occurred at the Alexander Music Building, starting January 1. The case closed March 21.

EMU assisted with an arrest at South Washington and Harriet Streets at 5:05 p.m. The subject was advised of an outstanding warrant before being transported to the hospital for a medical condition. The case closed March 20.

Wednesday, March 20

A driver was cited for operating with a suspended license during a routine traffic stop on 1312 Leforge Road. The stop occurred at 8:57 p.m. and the case  closed March 21.

Saturday, March 23

A driver was cited for driving with a suspended license during a routine traffic stop at Washtenaw Avenue and North Summit Street at 4:38 p.m. The case closed March 24.

An individual stole equipment from the Convocation Center during an event. The crime occurred between 3:42 and 4:19 p.m. on March 23, with the theft reported at 5:33 p.m. The case closed the next day.

A subject was arrested for operating under the influence while pulled over for a traffic stop at Westview and North Huron River Drives. The stop occurred at 8:57 p.m., with the driver being found with an open container of liquor and transporting a child under the age of 16. The case remains open.

Sunday, March 24

An intoxicated individual was reported creating a disturbance and being disorderly at a Convocation Center event at 4:26 a.m. The case closed later that day.

A verbal argument between Parking staff and a student was reported in Bowen Staff Lot at 3:56 p.m. yesterday. The case was filed under disturbing the peace and remains open at this time.
