Eastern Michigan University LGBT Resource Center offers free STI testing

There is still time to receive free STI testing from the Eastern Michigan University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Resource Center this summer through its Get Yourself Tested program.

"As of right now, we have two more testing dates this summer before we transfer back to our weekly schedule during the school year," Ava Ryan-Young, an intern for the LGBTRC, stated in an email.

The upcoming dates are Thursday, July 30, and Thursday, August 27. The center is available from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. during the summer.

"We test for HIV/AIDS, Gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, and Hepatitis B," Ryan-Young wrote in the email. "Some tests have results by the end of the appointment, and some tests take a short processing time. The testing room is in 340Q, but anyone who is struggling to find it can visit us in 354 before their appointment for directions."

Those who would like to get free STI testing may either email the LGBTRC at lgbtrc@emich.edu or visit in-person via appointment in the Student Center room 354.

Appointments can be made online for free and confidential testing.
