The Hope Clinic in Ypsilanti will offer  free Thanksgiving meal baskets on Nov. 24.

Ypsilanti’s Hope Clinic will be giving out free Thanksgiving baskets to the community on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

The baskets will be available for pickup at the Hope Clinic’s Ypsilanti location, 518 Harriet St., between 10 a.m. and noon. No registration is required.

The Thanksgiving baskets will include a turkey and classic holiday sides. The baskets are available on a limited basis, and side dishes will still be available if Hope Clinic runs out of turkeys, Emmeline Weinert, the food program manager, said in an email.

“These distributions are first come, first serve, while supplies last,“ Weinert said. "If we run out of turkeys, we will still be able to provide a bag of classic side dishes.”

A full Thanksgiving meal will be available for pickup at the Hope Clinic on Nov. 25 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“The Hope Clinic never cancels our meals for Holidays, and for our Nov. 25 Thanksgiving Day meal, we will have a full menu with turkey and all the Thanksgiving favorites," Weinert said.

In addition to the holiday baskets, Hope Clinic also offers free carry-out style meals six days a week at 5 p.m. The First Presbyterian Church in Ypsilanti offers these meals on Wednesdays at 300 N. Washington St., Weinert said.

The Hope Clinic provides a variety of services to the community, including free medical and dental care to those who are uninsured, mental health services, food, and other basic needs.

For more information about their programs, visit Hope Clinic’s website, www.thehopeclinic.org, or call 734-484-2989.
