Finals Lounge Movie Showings — Tuesday-Friday, April 22-24

Campus Life scheduled a weeklong showing of movies for hard-working Eagles to unwind and re-energize during finals week. The lounge includes free snacks, bingo, prizes and crafts to enjoy while watching the films. The fun runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with the movies starting at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Disability Revolution Club will be offering anxiety kits to support students through finals.

Tuesday’s theme is dystopian, presenting the films "Divergent" and "The Hunger Games." Wednesday will be pink-themed, featuring the movies "One of Them Days" and "Legally Blonde." The movie showings will be held at the Student Center Lounge just across from the EMU bookstore. Paranormal Club — Thursday, April 24

For students interested in alien and UFO sightings, ghosts and hauntings, the fascinating world of the unknown is the focus of the Paranormal Club, which is open to new members and visitors. The club will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the program room at the Ypsilanti District Library's downtown branch, which reopened this month.

Attendees will discuss different intriguing topics, share personal experiences, and engage with guest speakers about their knowledge of the supernatural.

Spoken Thoughts Cafe — Thursday, April 24

Relax at the Riverside Art Center, 76 N. Huron St., for an open mic night with poetry, music and more. The event starts at 8 p.m. Poets and musicians will be at the mic until 10 p.m. For more information, message @spokenthoughs93 or @dbloink on Instagram. 

The Fallout Shelter — Thursday, April 24

Ech0labs Light Industries hosts its weekly night of electronic music with resident DJs Jamison “Silent Ech0” Lundy and DJ None, alongside others, for a night of dancing at 734 Brewing Company, at 15 E. Cross St.

The event will be held from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, with a suggested donation of $5 to help local artists. For more information, visit the Ech0labs Light Industries Facebook page.

Drag Bingo — Saturday, April 26

The Tap Room, at 201 W. Michigan Ave., will be hosting a Drag Bingo event April 26 to raise money for the Boylesque Annual Pride Weekend.

The 18-plus event will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. and will have a limited number of tickets available. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite for $25. For more information on this event and similar events, visit BOYLESQUE on Eventbrite. 

Eastern Michigan University Commencement — April 27

College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education, and Individualized Studies Program graduates will participate in a 9:30 a.m. ceremony at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Graduates from the College of Business, GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology, and the College of Health and Human Services will participate in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony.  Doors open at noon.
