"Well, it wouldn't be a Michigan fall if the weather didn't change our plans," an email sent Thursday night by University Communications and Marketing stated.
Due to forecasted high winds Friday night, the original plans for the homecoming parade and the Ignite the Night event have altered. The email said that the parade will now take place at University Park and instead of a large bonfire, there will be small fire pits on the Student Center Patio with s'mores kits.
Glow-in-the-dark activities, music and yard games will continue as planned.
The REC/IM Camp Out will relocate to University Park, as well rather than the originally planned Rynearson event.
Students can still engage with the parade and other activities happening Friday, Oct. 16.
"So grab your jackets and your friends, and join us to make the very best of our Michigan fall," the email stated. "We can't wait to kick off Homecoming Weekend with you!"
