Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet at Ziggy's – Aug. 7, 2025
On Thursday, Aug. 7, feminist pop-rock band Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet will be performing at 8 p.m. at Ziggy's, an Ypsilanti bar and music venue located at 206 W. Michigan Ave.
According to band leader Brea Fournier's website, the band's music is "unapologetically feminine, upbeat, and deeply emotional, drawing influence from artists and bands like Paramore and Green Day." John E. Lawrence Summer Jazz Series 2025 – Aug. 8, 2025
Don't miss this chance to hear great music from national recording artists! During the month of August, the John E. Lawrence Summer Jazz Series will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a concert every Friday in Ford Lake Park. The concert on Friday, Aug. 8 will feature Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Marion Meadows.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m., and Ford Lake Park is located at 9075 S. Huron River Drive in Ypsilanti. There is a $20 parking fee for each concert.
Over the Edge – Aug. 9, 2025
Looking for a summer thrill? Look no further than Over the Edge! This fundraising event for Friends In Deed gives attendees the chance to rappel 11 stories down the side of Hill Hall at Eastern Michigan University. To participate in the event, attendees must raise funds for Friends In Deed by creating a fundraising campaign on Zeffy.
For those who would like to contribute but are not ready to rappel, there are several other ways to get involved. Those interested can donate to other participants' fundraising goals, spread the word about Over the Edge, or volunteer at the event.
Over the Edge will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Attendees can also visit resource tables and enjoy a live DJ.

Fun Fest 2025 – Aug. 9, 2025
On Saturday, Aug. 9, Fundamental Sound Co. will host Fun Fest, a day of music, food, and more at Frog Island Park. The event will take place from 1 to approximately 11 p.m. and feature live music from a variety of artists. There will also be a special performance from aerialist Cassie Catania from Resonate Bodies Healing & Circus Art.

Ton-Up Ypsilanti Motorcycle & Music Festival – Aug. 10, 2025
The Ton-Up Ypsilanti Motorcycle & Music Festival will be returning on Sunday, Aug. 10, for the 15th year! At this festival, motorcyclists, moped drivers, and scooter riders can display their bikes and win a variety of different awards. The festival will also feature food, raffles, and live music from local bands, such as Ypsilanti rock and roll band Cowgirl and Detroit psychobilly band Bat Hearse.
The event will take place from 12 to 7 p.m. at Arbor Brewing Company, located at 720 Norris St. Admission is free, but those entering the bike show must pay a $10 fee at the gate. Those under 21 must attend with an adult.
