Five upcoming holiday markets in Ypsilanti offering handmade, local art

Starting to think of unique gift ideas to give family and friends this upcoming holiday season? Here are five upcoming holiday markets in the Ypsilanti area, all within walking distance of Eastern Michigan University's campus.

Riverside Holiday Art Fair

The Riverside Art Center’s third annual holiday art fair is taking place Nov. 22, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Nov. 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

RAC is at 76 N. Huron St., which is a five-minute drive or roughly 20-minute walk from EMU's campus. The art fair will have more than 60 local vendors selling handmade art, vintage goods and self-care products. 

Ypsilanti Artisan Holiday Market

The 5th Annual Ypsi Artisan Holiday Market will take place at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse Nov. 29 and 30, 2025, and Dec. 20 and 21, 2025. 

The Ypsilanti Freighthouse is at 100 Market Place, which is a four-minute drive or roughly 17-minute walk from EMU's campus. 

The market will showcase more than 40 Ypsi-based small businesses, nonprofit organizations, crafters and artists. All vendors will be selling art or products they have made.

Krampusmrkt Handmade Holiday Bazaar

The 5th Annual Krampusmrkt Handmade Holiday Bazaar will take place at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse on Dec. 5, 2025, from 5-9 p.m. and Dec. 6, 2025, from 1-9 p.m.

Krampusmrkt is a winter folklore-themed holiday market. Visitors may shop from a selection of handmade goods from local artists, including prints and sculptures. Most works will have an eerie theme. 

Cafe Liv Holiday Market

Cafe Liv, a local coffee shop, is having their third annual Holiday Market this year on Dec. 6, 2025.

Cafe Liv is at 202 N. Washington St., which is a four-minute drive or 16-minute walk from EMU's campus.

The Cafe Liv Holiday Market will have booths where local artists and makers can sell their work. Visitors can also enjoy the cafe’s usual menu items. 

EMU AMP! Handmade for the Holidays

EMU AMP!, a student organization, is having a holiday market, Handmade for the Holidays, on Dec. 3, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. The market will be located in the EMU Student Center.

Handmade for the Holidays will feature EMU student artists looking to sell their arts, crafts and creations. 


Madison Cantrell

Madison Cantrell uses any pronouns, and has worked for The Eastern Echo since Fall 2023. She started as a news reporter, then moved to Arts Editor and Cellar Roots Editor-in-Chief in the spring of 2024. Cantrell is a senior double majoring in art and journalism.

Their job entails generating and overseeing The Echo's arts content as well as design and operations for Cellar Roots, the yearly student art magazine, and the monthly arts and entertainment publication, Roots. Their favorite part of the job is being able to make meaningful connections with local Ypsilanti artists and galleries.
