First Friday in the Town — Friday, Dec. 5, 2025
First Fridays season in Ypsilanti is still here — but not for long.
Between May and December on the first Friday of each month, the city hosts and promotes evening cultural events. Visitors can tour local businesses and participate in art events. Starting at 5 p.m., local businesses may also offer discounted items.
Those interested can learn more about stores, events and special discounts on the interactive map on the First Fridays Ypsi website.
Winter Farmers Market — Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025
Growing Hope presents its second Winter Farmers Market on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Those who would prefer to shop indoors are welcome to visit the indoor market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is in the Growing Hope MarketPlace Hall at 16 S. Washington St. in downtown Ypsilanti.
Entrance is free, and more dates for the Winter Farmers Market are available on the Growing Hope MarketPlace website.
‘A Man for Christmas’ Musical — Friday to Sunday, Dec. 5-7, 2025
Just before Christmas, the nonprofit organization Neighborhood Theatre Group will perform the musical “A Man for Christmas” in Ypsilanti. The show is an original production by the NTG.

The parody tells the story of Kinzley, an ambitious writer and assistant. The single woman, who will turn 30 on Christmas Day, returns to her small hometown to attend two engagement celebrations, one for her sister and the other for her father. Will there be a third engagement for her and Eric Silverspoon? Can she succeed in winning Silverspoon's love this Christmas? Theater show lovers and Christmas fans are invited to join in.
The play is directed by Kristin Anne Danko and A.M. Dean. The cast includes A.M. Dean, Cole Hunter Dzubak, Andrea Evans, Kylista Geiger, Lexxus Glaze, Michelle Marin, Josh Stewart, Drew Tallquist and Jen Whaley, accompanied by pianist Zac Fosler.
The show includes adult humor. No intermission will be offered. The theater group released a trailer for the show on YouTube.
General admission is $20, and student tickets are $12. All tickets are nonrefundable.
During the upcoming week, the theater will play the show at the following times:
- 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025
- 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025
- 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025
The Back Office Studio hosts the show at 13 North Washington St. Parking is free after 6 p.m. on the weekends.
Beers with Queers — Monday, Dec. 8, 2025
Cydney Marie hosts the Beers with Queers event at 734 Brewing Company in Ypsilanti's historic Depot Town.
The evening agenda is designed to provide a safe space for enjoyment.
No registration is required, and doors are open from 6 to 10 p.m.
734 Brewing Company offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
