In the Republican race for Michigan's House of Representatives District 32, Mike Eller won the nomination in the primary over Martin Church. Church was the Republican nominee for the district for the last three elections.
According to Eller's campaign website, he is a lifelong Ypsilanti resident and serves as a member of the Washtenaw County Republican Party Executive Committee, a state committeeman for the Michigan Republican Party and a precinct delegate for Ypsilanti.
In his campaign platform, Eller seeks to cut government spending, eliminate the state income tax, exempt seniors from property tax, limit government's role in classrooms and increase local control and accountability.
In November, Eller will face three opponents in the general election: incumbent District 32 state Rep. Jimmie Wilson Jr., an Ypsilanti Democrat who has held the seat since 2023, U.S. Taxpayer candidate John J. Tatar and Green Party candidate Ryan Sample. In 2024's general election, Wilson Jr. won 75.1% of the vote against Sample and Republican candidate Church.
Michigan's District 32 include Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township, parts of Superior Township and parts of Pittsfield Township.
