Run Scream Run, hosted by Running Fit, is a day of scary costumes, healthy choices, a county fair and a haunted thrill park, all rolled into one. On Oct. 12, participants will line up at Wiard’s Orchard, located at 5565 Merritt Road in Ypsilanti for either a Freaky 5k or Terrorizing 10k.

On Tuesday, Eastern Michigan University’s student senate discussed whether it should support the implementation of a student fee of $0.93 for Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority bus passes, to establish an ad hoc Energy and Sustainability Committee for the 2013-2014 year and to remove a section from the bylaws of student government. All three resolutions passed.

EMU Police Department has provided an update to a timely warning given on September 23, 2013 about an armed robbery that occurred off-campus in the city of Ypsilanti. Homes that held memories of a bright-eyed baby’s first steps are replaced with blown out windows and graffiti-stained walls. This is the depiction of the average Detroit urban community. The urban communities have been neglected and left to wither away to nothing. With help and dedication from the community, neighborhoods can be rebuilt to provide better and safer living.
