EagleMail to be improved
Improvements to EagleMail settings will take place on Saturday, May 18. Eastern Michigan University’s executive Director of Media Relations, Geoff Larcom, issued a campus-wide email on April 29 outlining the changes.
WEMU’S Clark Smith retires
Clark Smith, 89.1 FM WEMU’s program director, retired May 3 after 30 years of service. He was originally hired on as the news director for the station in May 1983 and then named program director in 2007, according to a press release issued by WEMU. He worked both positions until August 2012.
Softball player is named MAC West Player of Week
Amanda Stanton is the starting second baseman for the Eastern Michigan University softball team and was also named Mid-American Conference West division Player of the Week last week following a stellar week, in which she hit 7-for-14 with three home runs (including a grand slam), and raised her batting average from .301 to .325.

EMU begins athletic director search
Eastern Michigan University announced Friday the search for a new athletic director was officially underway following the departure of former AD Derrick Gragg Jr. at the beginning of the month. According to a press release issued Friday, “The next EMU athletic director will lead a department known for success on and off the field, along with community service.”
