Americans in several states approved same-sex marriage on their Nov. 6 ballots. Three states legalized it while one rejected a constitutional ban on it.
The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair was hosted by Eastern Michigan University Friday at Burton Manor, located at 27777 Schoolcraft Road in Livonia, Mich., where hundreds of graduate students came from various universities across the state to apply for jobs and meet with potential employers.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder announced the appointments of Mary Treder Lang and James “Jim” Webb to the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents on Tuesday. Recently, the seventh annual Trojan Report Card of Sexual Health was released, showing that Eastern Michigan University ranks No. 103 out of 141 institutions of higher education that were reviewed. EMU is up 21 spots from last year’s report card, showing an improvement in the area of sexual health knowledge and resource availability.
Howard “Howdy” S. Holmes, a former auto racer and successful CEO, has been announced as the commencement speaker for Eastern Michigan University’s Dec. 16 graduation ceremony. The EMU Board of Regents approved his nomination, and also chose Holmes and Philanthropist Phillip Jenkins to receive honorary degrees, during their board meeting Oct. 30.

DTE Energy has partnered up with the nonprofit organization 826michigan to help them expand their tutoring programs in Michigan schools. DTE helped the organization expand to Ypsilanti Middle School and recently gave 826Michigan a $100,000 grant to make another tutoring center in Detroit.
