The Eastern Michigan (14-14, 9-8) women’s basketball team wrapped up their regular season and celebrated Senior Night against the Western Michigan Broncos for their last home game of the season on Wednesday, March 4 at the Convocation Center. After the Eagles crushed the Toledo Rockets 64-46 last week, EMU was ready to get back into action against the Broncos, who were only one spot behind EMU in the MAC standings.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles (15-11, 5-8) men’s basketball team defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes on their home court in Ypsilanti on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Eagles beat the Golden Flashes with an astonishing score of 70-49, clinching their third consecutive win after beating Central Michigan and Western Michigan recently.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles (12-12, 7-6) fell to the Akron University Zips on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti. The Eagles only had one double-digit scorer in the game as forward Areanna Combs dropped a game-high 23 points, four assists and two steals in the loss. Shaunay Edmonds had a team-high 15 points for the Zips.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles men’s track and field team traveled to Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Indiana to compete in the Meyo Invitational on Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8. The Eagles received standout performances from Owen Richardson, who earned a third place finish, and Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed, who won the triple jump event.

This was a challenging game for the Eagles considering their top two scorers Aaliyah Stanley and Arenna Combs were out.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles (9-9, 4-3) women’s basketball team came back from losing against Central Michigan last Wednesday, Jan. 22 by taking the win against Northern Illinois (5-13, 1-6) on Jan, 25. This was a home game as the Eagles celebrated National Women and Girls in Sports Day and the victory. This is the women’s first win against Northern Illinois since March of 2018.
The Eastern Michigan women’s track team ran away with five titles while at home hosting the Can Am Classic on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Bowen Field House. One of the seniors and co-captains Brittni Mason from Ohio, came close to beating her season best time in the 60-meter dash of 7.55.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles women’s track team traveled to Saginaw Valley State University for the Doug Hansen Open on Friday, Jan. 17. The Eagles competed in 11 events, including the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 800-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, the one-mile run and much more.
The Eastern Michigan women’s track team continued their indoor season nearby at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This is known as the Wolverine Invitational where 10 different schools participated, including the Eagles. To start off the field events Sophomore Nina Ward took fourth place in the long jump with a jump of 5.54 meters.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles women’s swim and dive team completed the Denison Invitational, which began on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The final day of the tournament was on Saturday, Dec. 7 in Granville, Ohio at the Trumbell Aquatic Center. On the first day of events, divers Michaela Schempf and Bethany Berger both met NCAA Championship standards.
The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team went 1-1 in their last two matches versus Western Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 2 and against Central Michigan on Thursday, Nov. 7. The Eagles lost to the Broncos at home on senior night before defeating the Chippewas, who are the top ranked team in the MAC.
The Eastern Michigan soccer team clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament by defeating Central Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 31. On Halloween, the Eastern Michigan’s women’s soccer team went to Central Michigan and dominated the Chippewas by a score of 3-1.
The Eastern Michigan University women's volleyball team lost 3-1 to Akron at the Convocation Center Oct. 6. The Eagles won the third set 25-23, but they fell in the other three sets. Eastern Michigan is now 8-14 on the season and 3-7 against conference opponents.
The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team has had an up-and-down season thus far through 18 matches.
Eastern Michigan football continues to support one another as their season comes to the halfway point. A big part of the Eagles’ team has been the defense and Kobie Beltram has stepped up during his senior season. Beltram has had a diligent season so far.
