When I was little, around this time of year, my elementary school’s music room would be overtaken by jolly volunteers and crammed full of cheap stocking stuffers as part of the annual Santa’s Workshop fundraiser. It was this school-wide event where kids came in and bought presents for their parents and other loved ones. I loved poring over all the little knickknacks and baubles, carefully picking out the things I really wanted, and then, in the last couple minutes or so, grabbing some stuff for Mom and Dad.

Destinee Leapheart awoke to a loud noise and a sharp pain in her shoulder. Initially brushing it off as just her shoulder popping, she felt fluid on her hand. Using her phone as a light source, she realized that what covered her hand was blood. She had been shot.

You know what’s cool about new relationships? Absolutely freaking everything. All the chemicals in your brain conspire to make you stupidly happy and you get weird butterflies doing somersaults in your belly and so on and so forth. In those first few weeks, you get to know so much about this other person, and if you’ve ever dated two or more people throughout your life, you’d know that every boyfriend or girlfriend you date has a different approach to making you happy (or I guess unhappy in some cases).

Gather ‘round the metaphorical campfire and I’ll tell you a story, alright? Eastern Michigan University has its share of creepy legends, like how Starkweather Hall is supposedly haunted by Mary Starkweather and Jones and Goddard have some thing about a faceless janitor or something. But I’m willing to bet you’ve never heard of the Echo ghost.

“I have seen a gun pulled on my neighbor who was sitting outside doing homework this past summer. I have called the cops for hearing gunshots often. We hear gunshots about once a week from our apartment. I saw a group of five girls attack another girl. The girl who was being attacked then got into her car and ran over the group of five girls. She hit the girl so hard she flew through the air, and it sounded like a car accident it was so loud.”
