The Men’s track and field added 15 recruits, 10 of whom are from Michigan. The state’s stand outs include Robert “Max” Babits (Fowlerville) a Division II State pole vault champion and Dalton Bates (North Branch) also a Division II State Champion in 300 hurdles.

Eastern Michigan volleyball teammates Rachel Iaquaniello and Haley Stein have been honored with weekly Mid-American Conference (MAC) awards. Sophomore Ianquaniello was named offensive player of the week while averaging 4.53 kills, 4.3 points and 2.13 digs in 4 games. Haley Stein posted 27 digs in the upset of Michigan State, along with 3 service aces in 16 serves. The Eastern Michigan Volleyball team is second in the MAC with a 10-1 record, trailing only Northern Illinois (11-1).

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team ended its season in West Lafayette, Ind., losing, 56-50, to Purdue in the first round of the Woman’s National Invitation Tournament. Getting to the WNIT ended a three-year postseason drought for the Eagles and was one of many accomplishments.
