EMU's World Language department welcomes the Polish School

Eastern Michigan University has opened up its doors to the Polish Language Center of Ann Arbor – Polska Szkola, also known to many as the “Polish School.” The Polish School began classes at EMU this past September and is currently meeting on the second floor of the Alexander Music Building.


Fun times at Youmacon

“Why dress up for one day, when you can dress up all weekend long?” So says Adam Kavetsky, a graduate student at EMU who attended Youmacon 2014 for the first time.  Those words proved to be the mantra of this year’s Halloween as hundreds of people from all over Michigan and beyond called Detroit their home for a weekend dedicated to everything anime, manga and pop culture.

Residence hall prices to rise 4 percent

Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents approved a 4 percent increase in the university residence halls’ room and board rates for the 2014-15 academic year at its regular meeting Tuesday. The increase is designed to pay for increased food costs, deferred maintenance expenses and a future plan to upgrade residence halls and dining facilities.

A look inside EMU's role in the EAA

Eastern Michigan University, along with the school district for the city of Detroit, signed an interlocal agreement with the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan on June 23, 2011. One of the university’s main motivators to sign the agreement was to play a helpful role in the education of Michigan children, according to President Susan Martin.
