Eastern Michigan University President Susan Martin and Chief Financial Officer John Lumm presented a Strategic Planning and Budget Forum to provide the campus community with updates about EMU’s finances and investments. Martin provided a rundown of the strategic planning for the last ten years at EMU.


EMU golfer falls short of US Open

On June 6, former Eastern Michigan University golfer Casey Olsen traveled to Springfield Ohio to compete in the US Open Sectionals. Olsen scored a 72 in each round of the two-day tournament.

Comprised of anti-folk singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson and indie rapper Aesop Rock, The Uncluded have been my favorite new band of 2013 since I first heard their album, “Hokey Fright.” So when I heard they were performing in Detroit on June 5, I had to go. Rackham Hall renovations for Physician Assistant Program at Eastern Michigan University— EMU’s new Physician Assistant Program will transfer to a renovated building on the school’s campus. Rackham Hall is undergoing an interior renovation that seeks to meet the program’s needs.

EMU student’s zombie film series a huge success

Among the crowd of costumed fans and comic book artists, was Eastern Michigan University student and Echo staff writer Michael G. Petersen. At Motor City Comic-Con 2013, two films from Petersen’s zombie series, “The Last Broadcast,” were screened in the convention center’s screening room on Saturday evening.
