EMU soccer falls 1-0 in the MAC Semifinals

An early goal by sophomore defender Lindsey Lee turned out to be difference as the Eastern Michigan University soccer team lost to Western Michigan University 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals at Scicluna Field. Lee scored unassisted in the ninth minute on a rebound directly off of sophomore goalkeeper Megan McCabe after making the initial save. “Again, those early goals (hurt us again) and have been our (weakness) all season,” EMU head coach Scott Hall said. “Big games like this where people are fighting up at the end of the game and Western hung in and give them credit (for that).” Hall noticed some adjustments from the Broncos after playing them on Oct.

PREVIEW: Men's basketball set to open regular season vs. Albion

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team put on a strong showing in its only exhibition game of the year, with a 101-38 rout of Marygrove College on Monday. The team is setting its sights on the start of the regular season Friday afternoon against Albion College at the Convocation Center.



Women's Cross-Country team finishes fourth in the MAC

The Eastern Michigan University’s women’s cross-country team took fourth-place, an improvement on its performance over the past few years, in the Mid-American Conference Championship on Nov.2. The Eagles finished with 111 points.





Women's swim team wins its 7th straight conference meet, 169-125 vs. Akron

The Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team won over the University of Akron Zips 169-125 to claim its second straight dual meet victory of the 2013-14 season Saturday. EMU (2-2, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) extended its conference-winning streak to seven and the series record versus Akron (0-2, 0-2 MAC) to 13-0.


	Freshman guard Cha’Ron Sweeney led the way for EMU on Tuesday with 20 points on 7-of-18 shots and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line to go along with three steals.

Women's basketball team defeats Wayne State, 85-76

Behind back-to-back three-point makes in the final minutes of the second half from freshman guard Haley Moore, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team defeated the Wayne State University Warriors, 85-76 in an exhibition game at the Convocation Center.

EMU club hockey loses two to Liberty University, 4-1 and 5-2

This past weekend, Eastern Michigan University’s club hockey team took on the Liberty University Flames in tough back-to-back games. This was the first ever meeting between the teams as both games were played away at LaHaye Ice Center in Lynchburg, VA. The Eagles bowed to the Flames in both games despite early leads in both games, losing 4-1 and 5-2.

Murphy likes to play the tough teams

The return of redshirt freshman guard Ray Lee and redshirt junior guard Mike Talley, who transferred from Duquesne University added much needed depth to the Eastern Michigan University backcourt this upcoming season.


Women's soccer team earns regular season MAC title

Behind two straight second half goals, the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team earned the Mid-American Conference regular season championship with a 2-1 victory over Western Michigan University at a rain-soaked WMU Soccer Complex on Thursday.


Eagles quarterback Brogan Roback threw for two touchdowns and had a career long 45 yard pass in Eastern Michigan's 55-16 loss to Toledo.

Eagles without Hill, drop eighth in a row

For the first time this season, Eastern Michigan University starting running back Bronson Hill did not play a full game as they fell to the University of Toledo 55-16 at the Glass Bowl. “[It was a] coach’s decision,” EMU head coach Ron English said on sitting Hill.

Associate athletic director hired

On Oct. 28, Matt Jakobsze, the former Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, was named the Associate Athletics Director of Compliance at Eastern Michigan University.
