“When we heard the six words on the Zoom, we got off and said we need to hire her,” EMU Athletics Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee said when dwelling on the moment of meeting with Nusseibeh for the position. "I am as excited now as I’ve ever been about a hire.”

Eastern Michigan had runners in the women’s 800, 1500, 5000, and 10000 meters, while having runners in the men’s 800 and 1500 meters. There were also two events that the Eagles had athletes in that covered the field side of things, which were the men’s long jump and triple jump.

Nusseibeh comes to Ypsilanti after being the head coach at Canisius University for the past three seasons. During her time at Canisius, Nusseibeh the Golden Griffins to its first 17-win season since 2008-09, and its first double-digit win season since 2018-19.

The Eagles doubled their season win total from last year securing its fourth win of the season after defeating MAC opponent Akron.

EMU baseball downs Western Michigan over weekend to capture series win, 2-1

The series was originally scheduled to run all three days of the weekend with the Eagles and Broncos facing off once for each day, but snowy conditions on Friday, March 22, caused the first game to get postponed to Sunday.

Six Eagles top five different track and field events in Clyde Hart Classic

Eagle athletes went on to place in the top five in numerous events, including Gabriel Singh (Toledo, Ohio) in the 400m hurdles, Ryan Johnson (Springboro, Ohio) and Jake McEarchern (Lloydminster, Alberta) in the hammer throw, Alex Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica) in the long jump, and Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine) and Kyra Buffen (Columbus, Ga.) in the Triple Jump.

Eastern Michigan football set to kickoff 2024 season with spring practice starting Monday, March 11

The Eagles will complete a five-week practice period that includes 15 practice dates as they will hit the field three times per week. It will end with the program's annual spring game, which is scheduled for Friday, April 12.

EMU is still in the middle of a road trip, yet to play a game in conference play, the Eagles will open up the conference schedule when it takes on Ball State on the road on March 8. They sit in a tie for ninth place in the non-conference standings heading into conference play.
