Green beats White at spring game

On Saturday, April 8, the Eastern Michigan competed in its annual spring game at Rynearson Stadium which showcased the team for the 2017 football season.

EMU softball fails to record a hit

On Sunday, April 2, the Eastern Michigan softball team ended its series finale, 9-0, to the University of Akron at Varsity Field.  The Eagles fell to 13-17 on the season and 2-4 in Mid-American Conference play.

Eagles split a pair of games at home

Brad Allen's complete game helped the Eastern Michigan baseball team pick up its second win of the weekend when it faced Bowling Green in Ypsilanti on Saturday. Allen picked up his first win of the season in his nine inning performance to give the Eagles the 3-0 shutout victory.

Eagles walk-off on home opener

Eagles walk-off on home opener Eastern Michigan baseball team rallied to a 7-6 walk-off win at their home opener at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti on Friday, March 24.  “We’re still making too many mistakes early in ball games, but the guys never quit and I can’t be any more proud of them” said skipper Mark Van Ameyde.

Heather Lyke to leave for Pitt

Heather Lyke, the Director of Athletics, has been announced to and will leave Eastern Michigan and accept the same position at the University of Pittsburgh. The reports came in overnight and have been cleared and shown that Lyke will leave for the Atlantic Coast Conference power.

The EMU gymnastics team collected its second-straight Mid-American Conference tournament championship on Saturday.

EMU women's swim and dive finish championships and seasons undefeated

The Eastern Michigan women's swimming and diving team completed two days of competition at the NCAA Championships Friday until Saturday, March 17-18 in Indianapolis. On the first day, Sophomore Delaney Duncan placed 29 with a time of 1:00.58 in the 100 Breaststroke, while senior Alexis Mitcheltree placed 38 in the 100 Backstroke.

​Gymnastics goes ‘back to back’

The EMU gymnastics team picked up its second-straight Mid-American Conference tournament championship on Saturday in Bowling Green with a 196.500 The team set a program record on the bars with a 49.300 thanks to the contributions from Catie Conrad, Natalie Gervais and Lacey Rubin who all had career highs.

EMU mens and women's dive team completes NCAA Zone Championships

The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's diving teams headed to the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Indiana for the NCAA Zone Championships over the weekend, March 9-11. Freshman Brielle Johnston led the men's and women's diving team on the first day of championships, March 9.

Shots don't fall in heartbreaker on Senior Night, 60-56 to UT

The Eastern Michigan men's basketball team was unable to keep its win-streak going as it fell to Toledo on Senior Day,60-56, on Friday night at the Convocation Center. Senior guards Willie Mangum and Ray Lee went a combined 9-30 from the field in their final home game.

Student government responds to Free Press article

On Wednesday, March 1, the Detroit Free Press published an article called "Eastern Michigan University plans to spend $35M on athletic upgrades". Since then, student government has responded to what the article states: To those it may concern, Student Government learned from The Detroit Free Press about the $35 million proposal to renovate and relocate several of Eastern Michigan University’s athletic facilities.

EMU plans to spend $35M on athletic renovations

The Eastern Michigan athletic department is planning to upgrade and renovate the athletic facilities and the renovation is set to cost $35 million. Officials from the department have said that $9 million have been raised with $6 million coming from a single donor.

Wrestling edged out by MSU on Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team were unable to win their final home dual of the season when they fell to Michigan State, 17-16, on Sunday at the Convocation Center. Senior Devan Marry fell in a 5-0 decision on the last match of the day which allowed the Spartans to leave Ypsilanti with a 17-16 victory.  Outside of Marry, the other two starting EMU seniors picked up victories in their final matches in Ypsilanti.
