Swimmer invests at EMU

After thousands of dives off the platform, Eastern Michigan University senior Andrew Saunders knows the final dive is coming soon but hopes to make more splashes in the real world after graduation.

The men’s and women’s teams performed well at the Michigan First Chance Meet in Ann Arbor Saturday and Sunday.

On Senior Day, Mike Swain led the way with four first-place finishes to help the Eastern Michigan University men’s swim and dive team finish Mid-American Conference play undefeated, knocking off the Miami University of Ohio RedHawks, 184-110, Saturday at the Jones Natatorium.

On senior day, Briana Emig captured first in the 200, 500 and 1,000 freestyles in 1 minute, 52.84 seconds, 4:58.58 and 10:20.17, respectively, to help the Eastern Michigan University women’s swim team remain undefeated by knocking off the Bowling Green State University Falcons 166-128 at Jones Natatorium.
