Students and alumni filled the Student Center Auditorium Thursday for the George Liepa Sigma Xi Lecture, “Your Gut... More than a Digestive System.” Presenter Gary Huffnagle, Ph.D., is a professor at the University of Michigan Medical School of Microbiology and Immunology who actively facilitates research studies on opportunistic fungal pathogens, fungal bacterial microbiome and the immune system during respiratory disease.

NASO questions reasons behind EMU presentation

Eastern Michigan University hosted a presentation on the River Raisen National Battlefield Park and how it was intertwined with Wyandotte Native American Nation, Thursday afternoon in the Student Center in honor of Native American Heritage Month. EMU President Susan Martin said the objective of the event was to learn more about Native American history and the tribes themselves. “It’s all about education and history.

EMU hosts Great Lakes Mock Trial Invitational

Eastern Michigan University hosted the 4th annual Great Lakes Mock Trial Invitational over the weekend. The tournament consisted of two rounds of mock trial each day, and took up the entire third and fourth floors of Pray-Harrold.

Runners warm up for EMU's turkey trot

The Rec/IM and Office of Nutrition Services hosted the annual Turkey Trot Friday afternoon in the University Park. Kyle McAlear, assistant director of club and intramural sports said the goal is to put on a 5K race for the students, staff and faculty.
