Starting in Fall 2011, students in the Willow Run district will be able to attend the Early College Alliance program at Eastern Michigan University. ECA students attend EMU for free while maintaining ties to their high school.
With Ypsilanti budget deficits skyrocketing in 2011, the city planned to cut eight officers from the Ypsilanti Police Department on July 1. However, YPD will be able to save two jobs by assigning an additional officer to a multi-jurisdictional task force known as the Livingston and Washtenaw Narcotics Enforcement Team.
The Willow Run school district will be joining EMU’s Early College Alliance program starting in the fall of 2011. The program allows high school students to graduate with up to two years of college credit earned.
