Halle Library is preparing for another wave of academic cancellations this year, despite growing concerns that the library’s materials collection budget is dangerously low on funding.
Faculty and students alike are growing concerned about Halle Library. The library’s collection budget receives only $120 for each EMU student, as opposed to the $200 per student average that is given by other universities to their libraries.
The Board of Regents met with representatives of Eastern Michigan students and faculty at the bi-monthly EMU Board of Regents meeting Tuesday in Welch Hall.
Attending students were in for a personal political experience at “All Eyes on U.S.,” an event run by the Eastern Michigan University Student Government to help promote student awareness of the 2012 political election.
Excluding this last week, it’s been a rather-mild winter for Michiganders, and state, city and county agencies are expecting to save a fair amount of money due to the lack of snow.
