To spread awareness for their "Pokémon Go to the Polls" Voter Registration event, Pi Sigma Alpha invited Pikachu to The Commons on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

A bust of Martin Luther King Jr., created by Eastern Michigan University art student Nancy Sippel, was unveiled on January 15, 1990, during the university's Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations. The bust now resides in a plaza between Welch Hall and Boone Hall on campus.

A Great Day in Ypsi

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, YpsiWrites held a photo opportunity at the newly reopened Michigan Avenue branch of the Ypsilanti District Library. The photo was inspired by A Great Day in Harlem by Art Kane and served as an opportunity for the Ypsilanti community to get together.
