Hungry for a new adventure: Vegging out the Indian way

This week I write to you from Austin, Texas- home of the Texas state capital, the Longhorns and countless barbecue restaurants, huts, shacks and stands. Here the food culture is all about barbecue, a genre that revolves around meat, meat and more meat; a cuisine that truly isn’t ideal for a new vegetarian like me. But the intense Texas culture got me to thinking- there are thousands of cultures that have their own cuisines. What cuisine really caters to the vegetarians out there?

Hungry for a new adventure: Try these vegetarian recipes

In a few days I will celebrate my two-month anniversary of being vegetarian. Already I’ve had my ups and downs, but all in all I’m glad I made the decision to go veg. In the past two months I’ve figured out how to get enough protein into my diet, sneak veggies into meals and even where to shop. But the end result is the recipes I’ve found which have become the delicious healthy meals I now love.

My life has always been full of not-so-subtle signs, and I am a person who wholeheartedly believes in acting on them. Some may call these happenings a part of day-to-day life, but I take these events as a sort of heads-up.
