Lady Gaga seems to be back to eccentricity and weirdness in her new music video for her most recent single “Stupid Love,” released Feb. 27.

Her last album, "Joanne," was released back in 2016 and seemed to be the most “normal” compared to anything else. She stopped wearing as many off-the-wall outfits and made music with a more conventional sound.

The musician also starred in the 2018 film “A Star is Born” alongside Bradley Cooper, where she belted her heart out on some emotional love ballads and fun pop songs.

However, many of her fans missed the old her and are super excited for this new journey she seems to be approaching. The new single appears to be the first of many from Gaga’s upcoming sixth studio album titled "Chromatica,” set to be released on April 10.

Welcome to “Chromatica”, coming April 10. Pre-order now ⚔️? https://t.co/GjJUC3PRWz

This electric pop song talks about falling for someone and wanting their love with everything inside of you, which is a theme that many people can relate to.

“You're the one that I've been waiting for / Gotta quit this cryin', nobody's gonna / Heal me if I don't open the door / Kinda hard to believe, gotta have faith in me,” Gaga belts.

The song’s message and it’s semi-unusual visuals don’t go together super closely, though.

While this new track is reminiscent of her early 2000’s era work, it just isn’t as drastic and grand as pieces from previous LP’s "The Fame Monster" and "Born This Way."

The mini-film-like music video style is super intriguing nonetheless, including tons of bright colors, compelling outfits, and various choreography. The visual begins with the following statement:

“The world rots in conflict. Many tribes battle for dominance. While the Spiritual ones pray and sleep for peace, the Kindness punks fight for 'Chromatica.'”

This storyline intro and dystopian background alludes to a futurism-based project, making fans even more eager for new work. Gaga appears dressed in a sexy hot pink outfit, wearing a long pastel pink wig. The characters around her are dressed in even more unusual costumes and participate alongside her in choreographed dancing and mind-bending battles.

The versatility and uniqueness that Gaga presents is unlike any other artist today. The way she is not afraid to show her crazy, authentic side is empowering and demonstrates a positive message to always be yourself, a theme tons of her old songs contained.

Some people wondered if Gaga even planned on returning to the music industry fully, and every fan - including myself - is excited that new music has arrived. If you enjoy trying new things and hearing different music, definitely check out this new song and video. I’m sure you will get excited for "Chromatica" just as much as I am.

I would give this release 4 out of 5 Swoops.
