Layla McMurtrie

Layla McMurtrie is the Editor-in-Chief at The Eastern Echo. She is a senior at Eastern Michigan University majoring in journalism and minoring in women and gender studies and psychology. Layla has worked for The Echo since October of 2019, beginning as an opinions writer and music review columnist, later becoming the podcast editor in summer of 2021 and managing editor during the fall of 2021. She loves writing about community and enjoys music and good food.
