The Eastern Echo

News and nonsense spiced with nerve

U-M, EMU football game ticket giveaway Wednesday

The first 500 students, faculty or staff to arrive at the Convocation Center for Eastern Michigan’s volleyball match against No. 7 ranked Michigan at 7 p.m. Wednesday(gates open at 6) will get a free ticket to see the Eagles’ football team play Michigan on Sept. 19 at Michigan Stadium.

Tickets will be distributed between the second and third games of the match. As usual, students who present a valid student ID can get into the match for free.

Students can also take advantage of raffle prizes and free food at the student hospitality area. Bus transportation to the match will be available for students from the Eateries, Student Center, Peninsular Place and the Forest Street bus stop starting at 6.

“We’re trying to build more excitement around the program,” said Dr. Derrick Gragg, EMU’s director of athletics.
The Eagles are 0-7 this season and tonight is the first home game and the last until Sept. 25 against Central Michigan. Last season the Eagles went 10-22 overall and drew a season-high 342 fans against Miami (Ohio) on Oct. 18.
