Can’t complete sweep
The Eastern Michigan University Eagles hoped for a sweep over Bowling Green State University over the weekend in their three-game set but had to settle for two after a 4-3 loss Sunday.
EMU (12-16, 4-2) scored in the fourth when Wally Gerbus hit a sacrifice bunt to drive in Ken Battison. Bo Kinder followed with an triple to score Aaron Crooks and put the Eagles up 2-0.

BGSU (8-14, 2-4) answered in the sixth when Derek Spencer doubled to center, driving in Logan Meisler. Matthew Pitzulo then followed with a 2 RBI single up the middle, scoring T.J. Blanton and Spencer.
Collin Taylor (2-3) lost, lasting 5 1/3 and giving up three earned with five strike outs.
Eastern will resume play this Tuesday when it takes on Wayne State University at Oestrike Stadium. Game time is 6 p.m.
