From the day that we can once again spend time with our friends and loved ones, to the day that the nation can once again fully be reopened, there are many glimmers of hope shining at the end of the dark tunnel that is this pandemic.

It was revealed last month that the NBA developmental league, otherwise known as the G-League, has begun offering six figure salaries to top high school prospects. This gives prospects a new pathway to the NBA instead of the conventional NCAA or overseas route. Unlike the NCAA, this path will only be available to exceptionally special prospects.

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the speculation over how it will end has been nonstop. The least-controversial and most talked about path towards herd immunity, a state where the majority of the population is immune and therefore cannot spread the virus, is a vaccine. The lingering question, however, remains: what if no vaccine is widely distributed for two or three years, if at all? The only other viable alternative will be achieving herd immunity via the majority of the population contracting COVID-19 and recovering.

A few days ago, Bob Dylan released a single titled False Prophets. In the last month and a half he’d also released two other singles - A Murder Most Foul and I Contain Multitudes. The release of those two led to a lot of speculation on whether an album was forthcoming. The release of False Prophets confirmed suspicions.

Something I have always struggled with my entire life is telling people how I feel, or talking about my feelings. I’ve realized that my whole life I’ve trained myself to keep bad feelings and emotions to myself. I’ve done this out of fear that people will react badly to my feelings, and be unwilling to listen to why I’m upset over something.

Earlier this week, the NFL put out the 2020 schedule for all 32 teams. This is quite exciting, as it could allude to the NFL thinking that they will be able to play in the Fall, COVID-19 or not. There are many primetime matchups to watch out for this season, like Tampa Bay vs. New Orleans and Kansas City vs. Baltimore. However, today I’ll only be talking about the Detroit Lions and predicting their exact win-loss record for the upcoming 2020 season.

This weekend, the George W. Bush Presidential Center released a video concerning the Covid-19 pandemic. The video, narrated by former President Bush, describes the dangers of the novel coronavirus, and the havoc it is wrecking on our medical system and national psyche. He then describes how the nation came together after 9/11 by forgetting partisanship, and how we are now uniting to combat this present threat. In short, Bush called for unity in the face of this pandemic, and essentially criticized Trump’s divisive rhetoric.

Although the story initially broke in March via The Intercept, sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden by Tara Reade have recently made headline news. For weeks leading up to the story finally being covered by mainstream news outlet The New York Times, the issue received considerable attention on left wing media like The Intercept, The Katie Halper Show, and Rising with Krystal Ball, with many Twitter figures and personalities also weighing in. Kali Uchis released “TO FEEL ALIVE,” a four-song EP on Friday, April 24, via Interscope Records. This is Uchis’ first release since her debut album “Isolation,” which came out just over two years ago. She recorded all four songs in her house while self isolating during the coronavirus pandemic. In just over 10 minutes, Uchis walks the listener through an unpredictable romantic relationship, discussing themes such as arguing, drug use, selfishness, and finally, burned bridges.
