Eastern Michigan athletics will begin the new year on Jan. 1 with exciting conference basketball matchups. The women’s team will play Western Michigan, and both will face key rivals in the coming days.

As Eastern Michigan athletics wraps up 2024, fans can look forward to exciting basketball action on December 28, with the men’s team facing Davidson on the road and the women’s team hosting St. Thomas at home, offering a perfect way to close out the year while staying warm and cheering on the Eagles.

Nelson, Terry lead fierce EMU second-half comeback to topple Wright State, 86-82

A career game from 6’8” senior Da'Sean Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul), an additional 21 points from fellow upperclassmen Jalen Terry (Flint, Mich./Beecher/Oregon/DePaul), and a 15-2 run to erase an 11 point deficit to start the second half is all it took for the Eastern Michigan’s men’s basketball team to finally snap their three game losing streak - beating Wright State in dramatic fashion, 86-82.
